I think the teaching approach that she used is the nontraditional way as she used portfolio and even let the students perform first on a task after discussing it or verifying the learning of the students.

Chalk and Board

It is easy to access as it is already present in each room.

Students usually found it common and they thought it would not be interesting.

It was properly and well used while discussing and writing important details.

hand outs

It is easy to access, handy and inexpensive.

Sometimes charts, tables and etc. need a detailed discussion in order for it to fully understood

It was given to the students during the activity as their source and I think it is just right. After the activity the teacher discuss the hand-out and made a verification of the lesson they had learned through the given hand-out

Activity sheets

Analysis:
What is the basis of the teacher in choosing such instructional material in the lesson?
  • The basis of the teacher in choosing such I.M is that she first relate to the topic, analyze it well and while understanding it fully she analyze if it is suitable for her students and also for the topic. And also the availability of the materials.

Do you observe any difficulty in the use of the instructional materials? How did she manage it?
  • I had observed that there is no difficulty in using such I.M as it is available well in terms of boredom , I had observed that the students are bored so what she did is that she inspired the students to the activity as there would be a follow-up quiz.

Was the use of the materials effective? Why? Why not?
  • I think the use of the materials were effective because the learning objective was achieved and also the class is not a mess or in trouble.

How did the learners respond to the teacher’s use of the visual aids?
  • Well I had observed that they are quite bored at first but teaching aids are just aid or another extended arm to help the teacher in handling the class as overall she managed the class to act attentively and later on they became engrossed to the teaching aid of the teacher as it is useful ib answering their activity.

Reflection

Imagine yourself as the teacher. What would you do or not do if you were to teach the same subject to the same group of the students?
If I were the teacher, I will have something that is more modernized like presenting a video clip and let them discuss in the class what they had learned after watching it. Or even make a game about the topic to challenge the students to cooperate and learn more.
